Interesting side note here; although Chester had planned to use tenor sax and trumpet, the trumpet player didn't show up for the session. Since Gene(producer) knew I lived within walking distance of the studio and the clock was ticking, with Chester's approval, he called me; so I got my vavle trombone and headed to the studio.....we went over the tunes and cut each track in one take! Here is one of the tracks from that session.....the results was a organ combo with a Jazz Crusader like frontline sound......it's the only group that recorded with this instrumentation.
