Henry frankin COSMOS DWELLERS

This track (from the Catalyst LP 'Tribal Dance') is the culmination of my stint with the Henry Franklin band. After being a member of the band (tromb./bari.hrn/perc./synth./composer-arr.).... from 1971 to '77 (although I wrote a couple of pieces for the band later);.... I've been told that this piece was 'ahead of its time'!! I agree that my use of Moog synth.(in a jazz ensemble) in 1977 was a bit unique. But, we had a unique band. Henry--a great bassist and band leader-- was all for it, and we always had great players, willing to push limits, in the band. This tune, inspired my my brother Ron 'Cos' Hall, later became (and currently is) the theme song for the Cosmos Dwellerz Arkestra Project. Hip-Hop group FreeStyle Fellowship also used this as a sample on the 'To Whom it may Concern' CD (We are the freestyle fellowship).
